Music
Niall Evans
The over-riding aim of all my work is to ensure that music is seen as a fun, sociable activity, open to all and available to all to pursue to whatever level they wish.
I have worked with young children aged 2 and older people aged 70, seeking to enrich their experiences through contact with music. Some are content to listen and absorb, whereas others wish to take a more active part.
As well as doing normal instrumental teaching, I would now like to explore further possibilities of the voice as a means of self-expression, perhaps linked with other art forms. I am also interested in the more general idea of pictures and sound.
The services I am able to provide are percussion activities, to include awareness of contrasts such as loud/soft, fast/slow and moving on to self-expression through drumming. Communication through Music, involving sensory activities. Development of Voice, through vocalisation/ sound stories and poems. Recorder groups to develop rhythm/ teamwork and breath control. Song Workshops, leading to a final production/ performance. Song recitals, with items ranging from popular show to well-known hymns.
