Dance (Body Language, Expression of Elements, Emotions, Vision, within Music)
I own a school of Dance which main aim is to bring dance into primary schools and leave in the capable hands of their established staff.
I have started dance and drama classes (ongoing) for the children of Trefeglwys, Llanidloes and Rhayader. A fortnightly class at Y-Fan Institute, with classes in dance and drama for 20-30 local children and weekly at CARAD, Rhayader in classical ballet for 15-20 4-9 year olds.
I have experience also involving children with special needs (in primary schools) and some adults in a ‘Help the Aged’ project at Middletown during 2003. Language Disordered children in Stratford-upon-Avon were a particularly successful group, involving summertime dance in a Shakespearan woodland, helping one little girl to say her first word (‘RABBIT!’) at the age of four, whilst others learnt to express themselves through music and body language without the frustrating constraints of speech and drama.’
