Arts Connection and the Llanfyllin Civic Society are pleased to be collaborating on a photography competition with sponsorship from the Environment Agency, Rainbow Recruitment and Stadco UK.

There are 3 categories to submit photos to:

Farming & the Countryside (sponsored by the Environment Agency)

Neighbours (sponsored by Stadco UK)

Work (sponsored by Rainbow Recruitment)

What is the criteria for photos entered?

All photos must be taken in the Afon Cain Valley - Llanfyllin and its surrounding area. Check the map to the right to see what is constituted as part of the Afon Cain Valley.

How much does it cost to enter?

Absolutely nothing!

What other information do I need to provide when submitting my photo?

When submitting your photo we need your name, contact details and which category you are entering your photo into. By submitting your photo you agree to the Terms and Conditions of the competition - which can be read here.

How many photos can I submit?

As many as you like!

How can I submit my photo?

You can submit your photos in a variety of ways:

Pop into the Arts Connection office (in the Youth & Community Centre, Llanfyllin) with a disc or USB pen with the photos on or bring in a printed version of the photo.

or

You can email your images to the Arts Connection office at:

or

Post the photo to the Arts Connection office.

Please be aware that you can enter photographs either printed or digitally but that we are having an exhibition where digital photos will be exhibited as a slideshow through a projector. So if you would like a hard copy of your photo to be exhibited then you need to submit a printed copy.

What quality should the photos be?

Your photos can be taken on any format - mobile phone, film etc. but the format will affect the quality of the photo.

For top quality photos:

300dpi

2048x1536 px (approx.)

your camera should automatically upload photos in this size - but remember any size or quality will be accepted.

What are the prizes for each category?

Work & Neighbours Prizes

Over 16 - £50, £40, £30, £20, £10

Under 16 - £25, £20, £15, £10, £5

Farming & The Countryside Prize

Winning photos will be published in a calendar and overall winners will have their images professionally reproduced.
