Evening workshops and master classes ran in Llanfyllin, Welshpool, Llanfair Caereinion, Llanidloes, Newtown and Machynlleth. In addition we ran extra master classes in Berriew and a day of digital music in Llanfyllin. The project culminated in a final workshop and showcase day at Theatr Clera in Welshpool, which was well attended by friends and families of participants for the evening showcase. The group of musicians from Berriew, who formed as a result of participating in the project, were awarded some recording time in Cardiff with the Grassroots Organisation and also performed at a National Youth Music Festival at the NEC in Birmingham.

Two of this year’s groups - Llanfair and Newtown took part in Powys CC’s event at Theatr Hafren to showcase projects that have received funding from the Music Department. The Llanfyllin, Llanfair and Berriew groups represented the project at the recent Restoration Fair in Llanfyllin. This year’s project is already underway - we’ve moved the project to the autumn term to avoid clashes with the end of the financial year and hopefully cancellation of workshops due to snow!
