This year’s
project involved 4 evening workshop sessions and a masterclass
day in Llanfyllin, Newtown, Llanidloes, Welshpool, Llanfair
Caereinion and Machynlleth. Participants from the evening workshops
came together for ‘Big Bash / Twrw Taro’, a final
day of workshops at Theatr Clera in November. During the evening
they were joined by some of the masterclass bands and a very
enjoyable performance of work created from the project took
place. There were around 130 people in the audience, many of
whom made very positive comments about the participants' achievements
in our visitors book.

This is the 7th year
of the project. Several young bands have been created from participation
in the evening workshops or masterclasses. Some have recorded
their work and several have performed at large and small festivals
or events. This year saw ‘Serotonin’ who met at
one of our final events produce a CD, which was widely acclaimed
by music critics in Wales.

We would like to
acknowledge the input of our lead musicians and assistants particularly
on the final day and thank Powys Youth Service youth workers
who ensure the project is targeted effectively and support the
workshops throughout the project.
