Summer Arts Extravaganza
This year’s project took place on Fridays in August.
A group of 30 adults with learning disabilities from Mencap Llanfyllin, Cae Melyn, Rhoslyn, Leighton day base and Vyrnwy Academy enjoyed workshops in voice and percussion, dance, and visual creativity.
All the workshops fed into a celebration for invited guests on the final day.
Spring Arts Extravaganza
Spring Awakening’ was the theme of a particularly cold and rainy day in January when participants, artists, enablers and support workers spent 6 hours together in Welshpool Methodist Chapel. A fantastic amount was achieved as you can see from the photos. The size of the venue meant that everything went on in one room so participants could move about or stay with one medium. This made for a very pleasant atmosphere and we will attempt to build the formula into future projects where possible.
In March a day was spent with Mencap Llanfyllin service users creating a banner for their craft stand and enormous fabric flowers and baskets.
