Arts Extravaganza 2007
Arts Extravaganza has been running for 9 years and is a project aimed at people with learning disabilities. We run a series of day workshops throughout the year as well as organising a series of workshops over the summer.
Spring Arts Extravaganza
Mencap took part in Willow Weaving workshops with Caroline Lowe, creating baskets and much more.
Mencap also enjoyed willow weaving workshops with Caroline Lowe in the Autumn.
Summer Arts Extravaganza
Adults from Cae Melyn, Leighton Day Base, Mencap, Rhoslyn and the local community took part in Arts Extravaganza which ran for four weeks and on the last day there was a showing of the art work created which centred around a Chinese theme. A huge flame backdrop was made which was projected onto to make the flames come alive. The visuals arts workshops were led by Ingrid Maugham and Caroline Lowe who created lanterns, fire sculpture and more to litter the stage with scenery and props for the dance and drama group led by Helen Young to perform their rendition of ‘Dong Fang and the Festival of Lanterns’.
