Arts Extravaganza 2008

Arts Extravaganza has been running successfully now for ten years and is a project aimed at people with learning disabilities. We run a series of day workshops throughout the year as well as organising a series of workshops over the Summer.

Arts Extravaganza brought together participants from Mencap Llanfyllin, Cae Melyn Welshpool, Rhoslyn Abermule and Leighton Day Base to participate in workshops held over 4 weeks in Llanfyllin during August. The theme this year was ‘the Sea’ and the artistic mediums on offer were music and singing with Niall Evans, dance and drama with Helen Young and visual arts with Ingrid Maugham. The results were spectacular and on the final day, everybody enjoyed sharing their creations with an appreciative audience.

Mencap also enjoyed willow weaving workshops with Caroline Lowe in the Autumn.
